One research study found that the majority of US pastors (74%) say sermons are their church’s main form of evangelism training.¹ More than half said there are no additional classes offered for their church aside from the message from the pulpit.²
Pastors may teach their congregation how to share the Good News with non believers, but it hasn’t always proven effective. How do we know that?
That same study found just 12% of pastors believe they are “very effective” at “encouraging Christians to share their faith with others.”³
And the overall results are clear—only about 40% of pastors believe their church is effective at reaching non Christians?⁴
That means that even after preaching about how to share the Gospel, most pastors admit the gap between their congregation’s knowledge and their practice of effective evangelism.

Real Life Evangelism Training
The most effective evangelism training combines in person evangelism training materials and hands on evangelism experience!
Each morning as part of our 1 week mission trips in New York City, you’ll get evangelism training seminars.
This kind of evangelism training is effective because you immediately get to put into practice what you’ve learned about sharing the Gospel each afternoon out on the streets of New York.
Our base evangelism course will equip you for your outreach through evangelism training powerpoints and role play. This is part of the 1 week mission trips—for both students and adults—we offer at International Project.
Street Evangelism Training for Adults
A local church (university, other groups, or even individuals!) can pre register for an evangelism training course like Seed Week mission trip—1 week of hands on evangelism training and outreach.
This evangelism training course takes place in New York City—home to over 50 Unreached People Groups (UPGs).
We consider a people group unreached when there is no indigenous community of Jesus’ followers able to engage this people group with church planting. Technically speaking, in an Unreached People Group, less than 2 percent of the population actively follows Jesus.
At International Project, our mission is to reach UPGs with the Gospel—and you can be part of that too!
Church leaders can lead by example and practice evangelism alongside those from their congregation through this in person evangelism outreach.
Together, leaders and church members can study what God’s word says about evangelism, then go out to share Jesus with those who may have never heard about Him!
