Do you want to become more confident in sharing your faith? Where do you begin? Mission trips for adults could be your start! Randy grew in boldness through our short term experience called Seed Weeks in New York City.
During her week long trip, Randy increased her confidence while doing street evangelism alongside her team.
Randy admits she felt comfortable offering prayer to others, but the mission trip training sessions challenged her to get outside her comfort zone to start spiritual conversations with Unreached People Groups (UPGs).
“It’s the Gospel that transforms lives!” Randy reminds us.
Have YOU experienced the life changing power of the Gospel? If so, you want to tell others about it, right? And we can help with that!
We are excited to offer Christ centered mission trips for adults of all ages in New York City! During our Seed Weeks, we will train you on how to engage people with the Gospel using techniques that you can take back to your own community.
Mission Trips for Adults: Seed Weeks
Who says mission trips are just for high school youth groups, young adults, and college students? Whether you are 18 or 80, you can join a short term mission trip with us!
Our Seed Weeks are an awesome opportunity for you to grow your evangelism skills and make a real difference in the lives of people who have yet to hear about Jesus.
We will train you on how to initiate spiritual conversations and to minister in the neighborhoods where our long term workers live and do ministry. And after you leave, our workers will follow up with your contacts with evangelism and discipleship tools like Discovery Bible Studies.
You can come as an individual or come with a group, like from your local church! Seed Weeks can be a wonderful time of bonding with your local community as you engage evangelism principles from the Bible and put them into action together as part of a group mission trip.
We have dates available throughout the year so you can find a Seed Week that works best with your schedule—whether it’s a summer mission, or a spring or fall break.
And the great thing about Seed Week is that you can choose a domestic trip here in America (no passport required!)
In addition, we also offer other missions trips for adults such as a service project experience overseas in Rome that you can learn more about here! In Rome, you may meet people from all over Europe and Asia, or even refugees from nations in Africa and the Middle East.
Both outreaches have the potential to be life changing for you and for those you are ministering to!
What to Expect on Mission Trips for Adults
Here is what you can expect before, during, and after your trip to New York City
Prior, we will send you some pre trip training materials to review. If you are part of a team, we recommend going through these together as a bonding experience.
Funding
Before your mission trip, you have the option to pay your own way, or you can choose to raise funds through partnerships with your church and/or by approaching individual donors.
When you pre register for Seed Week, we will give you more information about how to do this kind of fundraising.
The cost of your trip will vary based on airfare from your city, as well as if you choose accommodations where you can walk to our training site or if you need to use public transportation.
Arrange Travel
Our mission trips for adults run Monday morning through Friday afternoon.
Make sure you plan some time on both ends of your trip for traveling. You will want to arrive a day before the trip is scheduled to begin.
You won’t want to miss any of our training sessions or immersive outreaches!
Morning Trainings
During your mission trip, one of the most valuable parts of Seed Week is our innovative training from experienced church planters and evangelists.
You will learn:
- How to engage people in spiritual conversations whether you know them or not
- About Unreached People Groups that may be in your local neighborhood
- Cross cultural intelligence for diaspora communities
- Proven strategies to engage unbelievers with the Good News of Jesus
Our long term missionaries will not only give you the tools you need to share the Gospel on your trip, but will also empower you to share with your local community back at home.
Immersive Experience
Get ready for the fun part! Afternoons are your chance to put your newly acquired skills in action as you engage in conversations with Unreached People Groups from all over the world.
In a diverse city like New York, you may meet people who have immigrated to the USA from places like Peru, Kenya, Cambodia, or the Caribbean.
Many of these people will likely be open to conversation with you because they want to practice their English! Believe it or not, practicing English can be a powerful open door God can use to open people’s hearts to hear about Jesus!
Taking it Home
Short term mission trips are powerful for many reasons—you grow in your evangelism skills, you build memorable relationships, and experience incredible memories that will last a lifetime.
It’s exciting to see people become more confident in their ability to spread the Gospel after putting the training they get on a Seed Week into practice.
God calls all Christians to share the Good News. Seed Weeks are a great way to feel more comfortable doing that because we give you real life tools and practical experience to use them.
At the same time, mission trips for adults are also a great opportunity for people who are considering long term cross cultural ministry. You’ll get to see first hand how our missionaries start engaging people.
