Are You Ready to Step Out in Faith?

Share Jesus with people from around the world—without leaving the United States?

Join us for our Timothy Ambition mission trip for teens full of cross cultural training and fun.

You’ll grow your evangelism confidence while sharing the Gospel among Unreached People Groups (UPGs) in New York City (NYC)!

We’ve designed this week long Christian mission trip for teens to catch a vision for reaching the nations with the  Good News of Jesus Christ.

Whether you are a chaperone or a high school student, during this life changing experience you’ll:

  • See firsthand how God is moving among unreached people in NYC and how that can happen in your neighborhood
  • Gain confidence in sharing your faith across cultures with hands on training in cross cultural evangelism techniques
  • Meet spiritually open people and help them take their next steps toward Jesus
  • Partner with long term missionaries to support evangelism and church planting efforts
  • Build lifelong friendships with like minded believers
  • Develop boldness in your faith as you step out of your comfort zone

By becoming more comfortable engaging the least reached of NYC, you will leave with a strong foundation to spread the Gospel in your own local church communities.

We think focusing on evangelism is one of the best forms of discipleship for young people.

Not only will you get out of your comfort zone, but you’ll help our long term missionaries engage people and get them connected with Discovery Bible Studies and church plants.

You Are Never Too Young for God to Use You!

You’ll play an important part in how God is reaching people who live outside their homelands.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Timothy Ambition runs from Monday – Friday. All travel arrangements should be made for the days before/after your desired trip dates.

If you have a group with 8 teens or more, we are open to exploring your own dates year round. We usually offer a spring break trip and multiple summer mission trips.

What Teens Are Saying

“I think it was just so cool that we got to go out into a place and just share the Gospel. It was something that I was very much not used to—being exposed to such vast diversity. I’d never really had that before and I’d never been to a city like this. It was cool to just go out and do something completely new, completely terrifying, and just have a ton of success in the Lord providing.”

“What I’ve learned this week is that missions isn’t about trying to save the people you’re going to. It’s about going to find God. That’s the reason we’re doing it. We’re not doing it to get the numbers. We’re not doing it because we think that that’s what we need to do for our salvation but more because we want to honor God. And the best way to honor Him is to tell this about Him because He’s the best gift that anyone can ever receive.”

Mercy C

“I think this training is very important to the life of Christian—knowing how to start conversations, knowing how to share the Gospel, different methods of doing that. Timothy Ambition teaches you a lot, and I think I’ve learned a lot. A lot more than I was thinking I was going to. So, if you’re considering it, I think it’s a 100% yes, because it really is very helpful.”

Mission Trips for Teens FAQ

What Is the Program Schedule?

You’ll start Monday morning and end the following Friday evening. All team members should arrive before the start of the program and stay for the duration. Teams will have one day off for sight seeing.

While scheduled activities may shift as different ministry opportunities arise, below is a sample daily schedule:

Day 1: Intro & Prayer Scavenger Hunt
Day 2: Training & Ministry in Neighborhoods
Day 3: Free Day/Sightseeing
Day 4: Training & Ministry in Neighborhoods
Day 5: Training & Preparation for Ministry After Returning Home

What Age Group Are Your Teen Mission Trips for?

We’ve designed our program to meet the learning needs of high school students. We have groups come from Christian schools and high school youth groups.

Individual high school students may come with chaperones.

In rare cases, we allow a mature middle school student to come with high schoolers.

College students can learn more about our Seed Week mission trips here.

What Do Participants Do?

During your mission trips, you will:

  • Engage in evangelism and spiritual conversations
  • Identify spiritually open “people of peace”
  • Connect interested individuals with long term missionaries

We do not offer service projects or work projects.

How Does this Ministry Help Long Term Missionaries in NYC?

During your week with us, you will be:

  • Interacting with unbelievers from UPGs
  • Sharing the Gospel with unbelievers from UPG diaspora communities
  • Connecting spiritually open people who are interested in learning about Jesus with long term workers

Our mission trip participants provide invaluable connections for us. When our missionaries follow up,  we see it leading to gatherings of people to hear the Gospel, Bible studies, and baptisms.

Why Do We Need Pre Trip Training Sessions?

We provide training to:

  • Prepare you for the type of ministry you’ll be engaged in during Timothy Ambition
  • Create team building opportunities for discussing expectations
  • Pray together
  • Bond as a team

Can Groups Come Every Year?

Absolutely! Many first time attendees come multiple years in a row. We’ve designed our Christ centered teachings to start with street evangelism and to grow passion for the least reached. Alumni glean even more on repeat trips!

What Does a Typical Outreach Day Look like?

You’ll begin each day with training and prayer in the morning, followed by lunch, with evangelism in the afternoon.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Training
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch
1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Ministry

5:00 PM – 6:00 PM : Dinner

Evening: Debrief + Devotionals

What If I’ve Never Done Evangelism Before?

That’s okay! You’ll learn exactly what to do from experienced cross cultural workers.

We’ll show you how to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit for what to do and say.

What Is the Cost?

The Timothy Ambition costs are:

  • $150 per student
  • $100 per additional sibling
  • $25 per chaperone (for background checks)

Transportation, lodging, meals, and tourism costs are not included, but we will send you recommendations on specifics when you sign up to learn more.

Can We Suggest Our Own Mission Trip Dates?

If you have a group with 8 teens or more, we are open to exploring your own dates year round. We usually offer a spring break trip and multiple summer mission trips.

Why New York City?

Our mission agency has teams across North America and Europe, but we host our short term mission trips in NYC because of the vast number of Unreached People Groups.

During our mission trips for teens in the United States, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and Sikh populations. Among them, you’ll look for spiritually open people.

Who Coordinates the Timothy Ambition Trip?

While each team will have a long term missionary acting as a ministry liaison for their group, teams need their own designated leader who will coordinate their trip details.

The team leader will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating Transportation to NYC (booking airfare, flights, buying bus tickets, etc.)
  • Arranging housing
  • Collecting the program fee
  • Facilitating pre trip training modules

Team leaders will be responsible for communicating with their missionary liaison in NYC.

The liaison from International Project will:

  • Provide training materials
  • Answer logistical questions
  • Organize your team’s schedule and ministry locations
