Missions Coach for Christian Mission Agency
Position: Full Time or Bi Vocational, Support based
Location: New York City, NY or remote
The Missions Coach at International Project (IP) is responsible for shepherding and coaching followers of Jesus who are seeking to engage in cross cultural evangelism, discipleship and/or church planting, from the moment they inquire with IP until the moment they arrive on the field. A special emphasis will be placed on helping prospective workers identify the next step in their missionary journey, potential hurdles, and a plan to ensure they successfully continue toward the calling they are pursuing. The Missions Coach will assist potential workers who are pursuing short term, mid term and long term opportunities.
This position will be funded through personal support raising.
Responsibilities and Duties
Discipleship and Coaching
- Pray regularly with and for prospective workers.
- Utilize the Bible to assist and guide prospective workers.
- Serve as a “Barnabas” throughout the coaching process.
- Cast vision and facilitate vision exploration and development.
- Communicate regularly with prospective workers via video calls, phone calls, text messages, emails or in person meetings.
- Utilize the mobilization database to track coaching conversations and objectives, and to schedule next steps.
Generate New Leads
- Seek referrals from prospective workers during the coaching process.
- Share relevant opportunities with pastors, friends, family, etc.
- Coach and encourage short term team leaders in their efforts to mobilize a team when appropriate.
- Represent International Project at miscellaneous events or meetings.
Miscellaneous
- Meet weekly with the Mobilization Team.
- Meet weekly with the Director of Mobilization.
- Actively pursue, engage, secure and maintain financial partners for the purpose of covering the salary of the Missions Coach.
Qualifications and Skills
- Growing, passionate relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by an inordinate amount of prayer.
- Strong grasp of Scripture and the ability to use it to disciple people to pursue God’s calling.
- Short term and/or long term missionary experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and with the Mobilization CRM database.
- Must agree with International Project’s philosophy of ministry and statement of faith.
